'Apprentice' Omarosa Brother Murdered in Bed in Ohio

REVIEWING THE NEWS: Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth, who rose to fame by being the “bitch” on the first season of The Apprentice in 2004, is once again in the news. But this time because of a tragic occurrence—her 40-year-old brother Jack was shot in the head, murdered in his Youngstown, Ohio home.

Wonder how Omarosa spent her 15-minutes-of-fame money?

No matter how lost we get in the faux-reality of reality TV, real life always intrudes. It did so on Megan Wants to Marry a Millionaire, when one of the contestants decided to chop up his girlfriend and then commit suicide; it did so when a producer of Survivor killed his wife; also when American Idol’s Jennifer Hudson lost members of her immediate family, including her mother, in a brutal massacre; and now reality has struck the notorious Omarosa.

The man who shot her brother is Marco Cardenas, a 22-year-old already on probation for another felony break-in. He is the former boyfriend of Jack Manigault’s current girlfriend. Cardenas forced his way into Omarosa’s brother’s home when he was asleep. The girlfriend, who was in bed with Jack, says she was hit in the head, and was saved when two juveniles who were in the house forced the shooter out. Jack, who took a much different path than his academically inclined sister, has had his share of legal entanglements, including drug arrests and prison time for aggravated assault. Omarosa had released a statement stating that her brother was no longer involved in illegal activity.

Omarosa, a former PhD candidate, served as deputy associate director of Presidential Personnel at the White House, and then served as managing partner for Access America Enterprise Corporation, a Washington, D.C.-based consulting firm that deals with government operations. In 2009, Omarosa went on to pursue a Doctor of Ministry degree.

Donald Trump owes Omarosa bigtime. She set the standard for The Apprentice, and unlike Jersey Shore’s Snooki, has used her fame to help empower women.

IN OTHER WORDS: Our best wishes to you, Omarosa; we hope your faith helps you through this.

'New Girl' Postponed Till November; Fox Makes TV Season's Stupidest Move

REVIEWING THE NEWS: In this season's makes-no-sense contest, Fox wins hands down by postponing New Girl until November. Yeah, that's a good way to nurture a new hit show.

TV.com is reporting that Fox's breakout hit show New Girl, starring the Zooey Deschanel will be put on hiatus until November to make room for more X-Factor (yeah, we sure need that) and baseball. Maybe while it's on vacation they should tool around with the supporting cast, which we've written about in our review of New Girl.

In any case, it's never good to fool around with a show's scheduled time. At least now we'll have time to catch up with Homeland, Dexter, Harry's Law, The Good Wife and American Horror Story. OK, and America's Next Top Model.

IN OTHER WORDS: What a ridorkable move.

FOX SCHEDULING TEAM: 0/10

ZOOEY AT HOME CURSING RATING: "Fuck Fox"/10

EXTRA HALF HOUR OF X-FACTOR RATING: Two hours too much/10
